Home-School Communication and Cooperation

In 2020-2021, with the funding of the EDB, the school has launched a scheme to provide support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students’ Chinese learning. The support arrangements are outlined as follows:

Aim of the scheme:

  1. To provide additional learning support for NCS students in Chinese learning
  2. To create an inclusive learning environment
  3. To strengthen home-school communication

 

Curriculum:

  • The curriculum is complied with the "Chinese Language Curriculum Second Language Learning Framework" provided by the Education Bureau to enhance junior NCS students’ fundamental Chinese learning.
  • Teaching and learning materials are amended for the needs of NCS students.
  • Develop school-base teaching materials.
  • Teaching assistants are recruited to support NCS students in Chinese learning. They provide support for subject activities to create an inclusive school environment.
  • NCS support teachers cooperate with the Chinese teachers to provide in-class support for NCS students’ Chinse learning. Pull-out classes are arranged for P2 NCS students during Chinese writing lessons.

 

After-class support:

  • Providing after-class support to facilitate self-learning and extending learning.
  • Conducting Chinese picture books sessions for P.1 – P.4 NCS students.
  • Purchase of learning and teaching resources (e.g. Chinese story book & e-learning software).
  • Arranging visits and Chinese learning activities for students on Saturday.

 

Off-campus/Other Support:

  • NCS students are encouraged to participate in courses which held by The Chinese Language Learning Support Centre (CLLSC) to improve their Chinese competency.
  • They are encouraged to participate in Campus Inclusive Activities held by Home Affairs Department.
  • NCS support teachers participate in the School-based Support Program for Chinese Subjects.
  • Activities that promote an inclusive campus are arranged.
  • The information in the school notices, circulars and website are available in English version.
  • Regularly contacts are made with NCS parents to increase understanding on students’ learning progress. Parents Day is held.

 

Home-School Communication and Cooperation:

  • NCS parents are invited to assist in taking videos for the Chinese Cultural Day activities.
  • NCS parents are invited to share articles in school newsletter.
非華語學生支援

2020-2021年度本校獲教育局撥款進行改善非華語學生的中文學與教學校計劃,非華語學生的教支援安排略述如下

 

目標:

  • 1.本校為錄取的非華語學生提供額外學習支援,幫助他們學習中文。
  • 2.建構共融校園
  • 3.加強家校溝通

 

()方面:

  • 針對初小非華語學生,本校依照教育局提供的「中國語文課程第二語言學習架構」編定課程,以協助學生解決學習中文的困難,及鞏固中文基礎。
  • 非華語支援老師會於部份中文課時段入班與科任協作支援非華語學生。小二非華語學生會於中文課(寫作課)時段抽離學習,並於課後或導修課時段進或午膳休息時進行課後支援。
  • 發展校本教材。
  • 配合學校課程,為非華語學童於中文學習方面進行調適。
  • 聘請教學助理支援非華語學生學習中文及建構共融校園。
  • 配合各科活動,進行共融校園的活動。
  • 非華語支援老師參與大班老師共備,其並定期與大班老師進行溝通。

 

() 課後支援:

  • 課後或導修課時段進行課後支援,配合學生常規課堂學習進行預習、課前輸入及課後講評跟進等。
  • 小一至小四非華語學生於課後進行中文繪本教學
  • 購買學與教資源(例如:中文圖書、幫助非華語學生學習中文的多媒體及電子學習軟件)
  • 不定期於星期六安排非華語學生參觀及進行學習中文活動

  • 適當地配合其他外界資源:
  • 參與提升學生語文能力的課程:香港大學專業進修學院非華語學生學習支援中心中文輔導班(SSP)。民政事務署:校園共融活動
  • 非華語支援老師參與教育局中文科校本支援計劃(支援非華語學生)
  • 舉辦推廣共融校園的活動(推廣家校合作及舉辦家長教育活動 )
  • 翻譯學校通告或學校網頁的重要事項
  • 定期聯絡非華語家長了解學生學習情況及舉行家長日。

 

() 家校合作:

  • 邀請非華語學童家長協助拍攝宣傳中文化日活動短片
  • 邀請非華語學童家長於校訊及家長教師會會訊刊登分享文章
